Here are some users' opinions of uniref.
As I write this, we are beginning our second year using uniref; I am happy to say that it has already proven itself to be an excellent organisational tool for getting everyone through the UCAS reference-writing process. Gathering references in previous years required an enormous and time-consuming paper trail, as well as a great deal of typing for myself and our sixth form tutors. Now the process is so much faster and simpler; students request references from their teachers on uniref, teachers write the references on the system, then tutors combine and edit all of these comments to create the final subject reference which I can check and edit. Students place their personal statements on uniref, so that tutors are aware of what they are writing and can offer comments.
We have been a pilot school for uniref so, to some extent, we have been able to shape it to make sure that it delivers what a school needs to administer the UCAS reference process. uniref continues to evolve as we and they find more ways to improve what is already an incredibly useful and inexpensive product.
I found it so very helpful right across the board. It meant I could keep track of the whole process - so thank you very much!
uniref has made reference-writing so easy; no bits of paper, every comment cut-and-pasteable; so simple to collate all comments and build a good reference!
